In 2019, as the world faced the onset of the pandemic, our passion for baking sourdough bread was born. What started as a simple quest for flavor quickly transformed into a mission for health. We fell in love with the rich taste and texture of homemade sourdough, and we couldn’t go back to store-bought bread.

However, things took a difficult turn in 2022, when I was shocked to discover that I had been diagnosed with breast cancer. The diagnosis was devastating, deeply affecting me as a mother, a woman, a wife and my entire family. We explored every possible option to find the best treatments with the highest chance of recovery.

As part of my journey, I underwent naturopathic treatments, with a focus on adjusting my nutrition to avoid feeding cancer cells. A brief explanation—there are certain foods, such as sugar, dairy, and refined flour, that cancer cells thrive on. The goal was to create a balanced diet that would “starve” the cancer cells and prevent them from growing. As a result, dairy products, processed foods, canned goods, and other similar items were immediately eliminated from my diet.

Being someone who loved carbs, it was incredibly hard for me to give up many of my favorite foods. But this only strengthened my resolve to develop sourdough bread further. With no preservatives, artificial flavors, or additives, sourdough became the perfect solution – delicious and, according to both my doctors and naturopath, a safe and healthy option for me.

That’s how, after initially baking only classic loaves, I expanded my repertoire to include pastas, focaccias, pizzas, and more – all made with our beloved sourdough starter. Our goal was to create bread that’s not only delicious but also free from artificial flavors, preservatives, sugar, oil, or eggs. We discovered that sourdough not only tastes better but also offers significant health benefits.

With every bite, you’ll taste the care and quality we put into our baking. As we shared our bread with friends and family, the love for our creations grew, leading us to launch Bread Board Boutique. Today, we are committed to bringing wholesome, artisan bread to every home – one delicious loaf at a time.
